What is Involvement? Our 2011 Leeds conference aims to focus on involvement from local to European level, and in particular on Giving, Volunteering and Participation.  Following on from last year’s successful volunteering event we also aim to celebrate the European Year of Volunteering.

The conference will also mark the formal launch of the newly merged Voluntary Action-Leeds

Speakers will include:

Tom Riordan, Chief Executive of Leeds City Council

Antonia Mochan Head of Networks at the European Commission Representation in London

The conference will launch the Leeds Involvement Strategy and the newly merged, new look Voluntary Action-Leeds. There will also be participative workshops on Active Aging, Young Lives, the Environment and Health.

Lunch will be provided.

The Lord Mayor of Leeds, the Revd Canon Alan Taylor will open the conference.

For more information contact Richard Whitmill at Voluntary Action-Leeds: 0113 297 7920, richard.whitmill@val.org.uk

The conference is supported by Europe Direct Leeds - www.europedirectleeds.org.uk
